Help Save the Red Pandas and Giant Pandas
Red Panda Donations for the Milwaukee County Zoo Total $250!
(10/16/15) It's been quite a while since we made an update to the site. Annabella and her family have been very busy!
On Oct. 3, 2015, Annabella, her mom, dad, grandma and papa went up to the Milwaukee County Zoo to visit Dash and present a giant check to the red panda's zoo keepers (Amanda and Sheri). She also had her picture taken by Dash's habitat and with the keepers by a photographer for the zoo! Amanda and Sheri also surprised Annabella by giving her an amazing gift--a painting made by their red pandas! Dash and Genghis (their older red panda who passed away in January 2015) both painted on the canvas. What a wonderful gift for a girl who loves pandas! Thank you to Amanda, Sheri, Julie, Stacy and Olga for welcoming Annabella and her family and making this a day she will never forget! Annabella has surpassed her goal -- what's next?
(9/21/15) As of Sept. 20, Annabella has raised $170 for Dash the red panda! Her deadline for donations that will go toward helping Dash at the Milwaukee County Zoo in Wisconsin is this Friday, Sept. 25. You can still send in donations and buy bracelets.
But even though her current campaign for Dash is ending soon, that doesn't mean she's done raising money. Annabella has decided on the next zoo she's going to help: Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Illinois. She visited there yesterday and couldn't get enough of the two red pandas who reside there. She was especially excited to get to see them eating their dinner of bamboo leaves and walking around on their tree limbs. More information about her next campaign will be posted soon once she makes her plan to help Lily and Ernie (and hopefully a baby red panda one day!). Big news! Annabella's featured on KidsAreHeroes.org!
(9/8/15) You can now read about Annabella on the Kids Are Heroes site!
She was recently nominated for the Kids Are Heroes website and was accepted! She appears alongside other kids who are making a difference in the world. She has also been invited to join the other Heroes at Kids Are Heroes Day in Atlanta in February. How cool is that? Please visit her page and leave a Shout Out for her. Great job, Annabella! Fundraiser update!
(9/8/15) Annabella was busy this weekend making Panda Sanctuary bookmarks and making bracelets for orders. She will have her bracelets and bookmarks available at TheCemeteryClub.com's booth at Dark History Con in Champaign, Ill., on Saturday, Sept. 19. Even people interested in the dark side of history love saving endangered animals! (9/5/15) The Milwaukee County Zoo posted about Annabella's cause on their Facebook page today! Thanks, MCZ! (9/3/15) It's now September, and that means the clock is ticking for the Milwaukee County Zoo's annual appeal for their red panda. If you'd like to place an order with Annabella, let us know right away! She currently has some orders she's working on, which should take her total donations up to at least $143. That's only $7 away from her increased goal! Will you help her surpass it? Email me at [email protected] or message me on Facebook to place an order. - Minda (aka Mom) (8/28/15) You can buy bracelets in person! Annabella will be at the QC Family Restaurant in Moline, Ill., Saturday, Aug. 29, after 11 a.m. Look for the long table of loud folks who are usually laughing (that's our family!).
(8/28/15) Annabella has now raised $136 for Dash the red panda! She's met her goal and then some, and we are SO proud of her. But she's not stopping now. She's raised her goal to $150, and I think it might end up going higher. We want to give a special shout-out to the Quad City Family Restaurant (especially Stephanie!), their amazing staff and customers for supporting the cause. Annabella sold dozens of of bracelets there last Saturday. The smile on her face and the light in her eyes showed how excited she was (and still is). "This red panda's going to be rich! He's going to have a mansion!" Thank you again to family and friends for your support. You are helping a little girl make a difference in the world. Today, it's one red panda. Tomorrow, it could be all of them! :) -Mom I'm Annabella, and I'm 8-1/2 years old. All pandas are my passion! That includes giant pandas and red pandas.
I want to save the pandas because they are rare species that people don't often get to see in person. Both red and giant pandas are endangered, and I do not want them to be extinct. I don't want a bit of cute and cuddly to die! My mom and I have created this website as a way to get the public interested in the issue. Check out our links page to find out about organizations that help pandas. We plan to take donations through this site, too. If you want to see pandas in real life, there are a number of zoos in the United States that have giant pandas and red pandas. For example, if you want to see a red panda, go to the Milwaukee Zoo in Wisconsin or Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Illinois. To see giant pandas, you can visit the San Diego Zoo in California. More zoos will be listed on our Visit the Pandas page. |
Thank You for Helping Me Help Dash!
(10/16/15) In September I sold handmade bracelets to help the Milwaukee County Zoo build a new habitat for their red panda, Dash.
Thank you to everyone who bought bracelets and made donations! You helped make a red panda happy and are increasing his chances of getting a mate. My original goal was $100, and I raised $250! But Annabella isn't done yet! Now she's ready to help the red pandas at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Ill. She's still selling bracelets to help Lily and Ernie get an improved habitat and animal enrichment gifts. If you want to help Miller Park Zoo directly (AND you love online shopping!), you can go to their Amazon wishlist and place an order that will ship directly to the zoo! You may also donate to Annabella through PayPal (below) or buy bracelets directly through her. Thanks again! Donations for Dash as of 10/3/15
